Plate Holders

How do I mount the holder to my car?
Our plate holders are supplied without mounting holes by default and come with high-bond automotive-grade double-sided tape for a clean, drill-free installation.
This method works well on most vehicles with a smooth, flat surface.
Standard Fitment (Default)
- No holes included unless requested
- Installed using the provided strong double-sided tape
- Ideal for clean, modern mounting without drilling
To request mounting holes:
Add the Add Holder-to-Car Mounting Holes Upgrade to your cart along with your plate holder, and select your desired mounting hole pattern on the upgrade page.
⚠️ Important:
- Screw holes are not included by default
- You must add them before placing your order
- Once your order is submitted, we cannot make changes or modify the holder
How do I mount the plate to the holder?
Follow the instructions provided with your order for correct installation.
Standard Series
- Use the included screws to attach your number plate securely to the holder.
- Once mounted, the holder can then be installed on your vehicle.
Pro & Pro-X Series
You can choose between two mounting options:
- Fixed Mounting: Attach the plate to the holder using the included screws for a secure, permanent fit.
- EZ-Release Magnetic Mounting: Install the magnetic screws directly into the number plate. The plate will then snap onto the holder using the built-in magnets and can be removed easily when needed.
Both Pro and Pro-X holders include hardware for both options, allowing you to choose the method that best suits your application.
What size plate holders are available?
Standard Size (Default)
- 520mm × 113mm
- This is the standard size for most vehicles
- If no size is specified, your order will default to this size
To request a different size:
Add the Change Plate Holder Size Upgrade to your cart along with your plate holder, and select your desired size on the upgrade page.
⚠️ Important:
- Long plate size will be shipped if no upgrade is provided
- We do not modify plate holders after checkout
- We do not check vehicle models before production, it is the customer’s responsibility to specify if a different size is needed.
What colour plate holders are available?
Our plate holders are finished in premium black tones designed to match OEM aesthetics while giving a refined, performance-inspired look.
Default Finish (Two-Tone)
- Gloss Black outer frame
- Matte Black inlay and badge area (with a slight graphite tone)
- Creates a clean OEM+ appearance with subtle contrast
To request a different finish:
Add the Change Plate Holder Body Colour Upgrade to your cart along with your plate holder, and select your desired finish on the upgrade page.
⚠️ Important:
- Two-tone is the default finish unless upgraded
- Modifications cannot be made after the order is placed
What’s the difference between Standard, Pro, and Pro-X Plate Holders?
All Xignature Plate Holders share the same premium design, materials, and quality. The difference lies in the special functions each series includes, with each level building on the previous.
Standard Series
- Our base model, ideal for everyday use.
- Your number plate is mounted to the holder using the provided screws
- Permanently secured plate
- OEM+ look with a fixed badge design
Pro Series - with Mounting System Upgrade
- Adds versatility to how your plate mounts.
- Choose between screw mounting or our EZ-Release magnetic mount
- Includes internal magnets + receiver screws
- Easily remove and reattach your number plate
- Magnetic mount is ideal for shows & events, not road legal
Pro-X Series - with Badge Flexibility Upgrade
- Includes everything from the Pro Series, plus:
- Interchangeable badges that click in and out
- Swap between daily, club, or event badges in seconds
- Perfect for enthusiasts who like to switch things up
Can I use my original number plate with the Xignature Plate Holder?
Yes, if your number plate is the standard South African long size (520mm × 113mm), it will fit perfectly inside the Xignature Plate Holder.
If your plate is a different size (such as square or short), you’ll need to request a custom-sized holder when placing your order. Use the “Add a note to your order” box on the cart page to let us know your plate size and vehicle model.
Can I use pop rivets with Xignature Plates holders?
Our Plate Holders are not designed for pop rivet installation.
They are made from high-quality acrylic, and the high pressure from a pop rivet can cause the holder to crack.
If you insist on a holder that must be fitted with pop rivets, please leave a note on your order or contact us immediately after placing your order to request this modification.
Important to note:
- The pop rivet option is only available on an upgraded version of the Standard Series.
- It cannot be applied to the Pro or Pro-X Series.
This refers to the fitment between the holder and the plate itself.
All our holders are normally fastened to your vehicle using strong double-sided tape.
Mounting holes for other fitment methods (like screws or rivets) are only made on request, please add this to your order notes if needed.
⚠️ Please note:
Once modified for pop rivets or mounting holes, the holder is customized for you.
We will not accept exchanges or refunds if the fitment option was requested and completed as per your order instructions.
What if my number plate is slightly different from standard sizes?
If your plate is different from our standard sizes, it’s best to send us a photo or confirm the size through the contact form before ordering to make sure you get the perfect fit.
Are the Plate Holders weatherproof and UV-resistant?
Yes.
All Xignature Plate Holders are made from high-quality acrylic and built to withstand rain, sun, dust, and heat.
They are UV-resistant and won't yellow, crack, or warp under normal use.
Is there a difference between front and back plate holders?
No, the holders are identical. We just sell a “Back Only” option for those who only want one. If you need both, choose “Back & Front”.
Will my plate stay on while driving if I use the EZ-Release setup?
Yes.
The EZ-Release magnetic system is designed to securely hold your plate during driving conditions and have even been tested on track conditions.
However, because it is not road legal, we recommend using it mainly for show purposes, styling events, and photoshoots, not permanent road use.
Can I change between EZ-Release and Fixed Mounting later?
Yes, you can switch between Fixed Mounting and EZ-Release on the Pro and Pro-X Series by changing how the screws are fitted.
However, if the Plate Holder has already been stuck onto the car with adhesive tape, you might struggle to remove the screws from the back of the holder without damaging it.
We recommend installing it using the EZ-Release method from the start if you plan to use the magnetic function, this gives the cleanest and easiest setup.
If I placed an order before, will my new order be the same?
We are constantly improving and refining our products. This means your new order may differ slightly from a previous purchase, as we release updated generations of our plate holders.
If you want your new order to match a previous one exactly, please specify this in the order notes at checkout. Example: “Please match my previous order from June 2023 (gloss finish, older badge style).”
We recommend checking the product photos for the most accurate representation of the current version available.
Do you offer free replacements for Pro-X badges?
Due to the removable nature of the Pro-X badge system, we do not offer any refunds, exchanges, or replacements for lost badges.
Please ensure your badges are securely attached before driving or transporting your vehicle.
Can someone easily steal my number plate?
Not really. While the EZ-Release system allows you to remove your plate easily, it’s not obvious to others. From a distance, your plates look securely fixed, just like any standard plate.
It’s not common for thieves to walk around testing plates, so unless someone knows what they’re looking for, it won’t stand out as removable.
How do custom plate holders work?
Custom and personalised plate holders refer to the logo area only, not the overall holder design, plate size, or colour.
Types of Customisation:
Text Only:
- You supply the word or phrase to appear in the badge area
- You can specify a font from the Google Font Library
- You may also upload a font file (.otf or .ttf)
- If no font is provided, we’ll use a trusted default that offers a clean OEM+ look
Logo-Based:
- You must provide a clear, high-resolution logo file or a reference link
- If your logo is usable as-is, no extra fee applies
- If it needs to be redrawn or vectorised, additional tracing fees may apply
Policy Update – Effective July 2025:
We will no longer accept custom logos that combine official car brands or model names with personal names or phrases.
You may:
- Use an official brand or model name on its own (e.g. “RS”, “TTRS”, “Hilux”)
- Or use your own custom name, initials, or phrase
- But not a mix of the two
This policy is enforced at the request of vehicle manufacturers to protect brand identity.
Lead Time:
- Custom plate holders take between 7-14 working days, depending on the complexity
- This is a premium, handcrafted service, please allow the full lead time when ordering
Colour Options:
- We only use selected solid colours, no gradients or visual effects
- We do our best to match your colour reference, but Pantone matching is not guaranteed unless pre-arranged with management before placing the order
Are these road legal?
EZ-Release Holders are made for show cars and track use. If you choose to use them on national roads, it’s at your own risk.
Disc Holders

How do I mount the holder to my car windscreen?
All disc holders come with pre-applied high-grip adhesive strips engineered for automotive glass. They hold firmly in place, can be carefully removed without damage, and will not leave residue behind.
This setup allows you to reposition or remove the holder without tools, making it ideal for both permanent and temporary display use.
How do I install the disc in the holder?
The license disc simply slides into place between the two curved adhesive strips and the backing layer. No tools required. This friction-fit method is secure, clean, and designed for easy disc replacement when needed.
What size disc holders are available?
All holders are built to fit standard license disc dimensions.
What colour disc holders are available?
Our disc holders are finished in premium black tones designed to match OEM aesthetics while giving a refined, performance-inspired look.
Default Finish (Two-Tone)

Do you offer returns or exchanges on accessories?
We do not offer returns, exchanges, or refunds on any accessories, including tape kits, magnets, screw kits, or related mounting hardware.
All accessory items are considered final sale once purchased.
Please double-check compatibility and your order details before checking out. If you're unsure about which accessories you need, feel free to contact us for guidance before placing your order.
Do you take responsibility for accessory-related issues?
Due to the number of variables involved in how accessories are applied, maintained, and used, we cannot take responsibility for any loss or damage resulting from accessory use or failure, including lost number plates, lost plate holders, or damage to vehicles or trim.
Please ensure surfaces are properly prepared and that installation is carried out carefully. If you are unsure about which accessories you need or how to install them, feel free to contact us before placing your order.
I have questions before ordering, what should I do?
We’re happy to help, but first, please follow this process to avoid delays or misunderstandings:
- Start by reading the product page information carefully

- A team member will review your request and, reach out via Email or WhatsApp to assist further
This process ensures your request reaches the right person and helps us serve you faster and more accurately.
How does your 14-day return policy work?
All refunds and exchanges must be requested via our Contact Us page within 14 days of delivery (from the courier’s confirmed delivery date).
After 14 days, returns or exchanges will no longer be accepted.
If the issue was our mistake, we’ll make it right, including free replacement and shipping.
If the issue was an oversight on your side (e.g. wrong version selected, no cart note):
- You cover return + resend shipping costs
- A 25% handling & repacking fee applies
- Items must be unused and in original condition.

Can I place an order offline?
Yes, but we strongly recommend using the website to minimise mistakes and ensure the best pricing, as discounts are not always available offline.
Most past errors have occurred during offline orders due to missing or unclear details.
To place an offline order:
- Start by contacting us via the Contact Us form
- Clearly include product name, version, colour, and any custom requests (plate size, mounting holes, or badge info)
- Our team will review your message and send an invoice via email
- If needed, we may reach out via WhatsApp or a Call to confirm order details
- Your order will be fulfilled exactly as per the invoice, no changes can be made after payment
Important notes:
- We do not accept orders directly via WhatsApp or our social channels.
- Once payment is received, the order is final and cannot be modified
- It remains the customer’s responsibility to read the product page and follow all ordering guidelines
- Please ensure all information is accurate when making payment.
Why are some specials and discounts not valid offline?
- Online orders go through a streamlined, automated system
- Offline orders require extra admin and staff time
- Because of this, special offers and online discounts may not apply to manual/offline orders
